Join me in this nakedly honest look into how we lose our innocence.
Throwing up my own life as an example of what probably happens to all of us, I strip away the masks and the beliefs to carefully inspect the grief, the shame, the disappointments, and the feelings of “not-enough”. Under all of the societal layers lies an essential self that is too valuable to hide and too important not to share with the rest of the world.
I had forgotten what it feels like to become so engrossed in a story, to want the words to melt off the pages and seep directly into my soul. There are books I read, and then there are books I consume.
